process of services

1.  once the learner has been accepted to our program, a bcba will schedule an assessment.  assessments are conducted over the course of several weeks and include questionnaires, observations, and interviews.  the bcba will create a treatment plan based on the assessment which will include interventions for challenging behaviors and programs for skill-building.  you will meet with the bcba to discuss the assessment results and review the treatment plan once it is complete.

2.  therapy will be scheduled for either 2, 3, or 5 days a week, depending on availability and the learner's needs.  sessions are scheduled for the same time each week.  you can expect therapy to last a minimum of 6 months, but most of our learners receive therapy for at least 1 year.

3.  sessions will be led by a behavior technicians.  technicians are supervised by a bcba and intricately follow the learner's individualized treatment plan while collecting data on behavior and skill acquisition.  this data is used to determine future goals and programs for the learner.  the learner's skill level and work tolerance will determine how work is presented during session, and their preferences for learning will guide the materials used and format of work.

4.  the learner is re-assessed every 6 months to determine progress made and a future course of action.

5.  once the learner has met all goals and has progressed through standardized assessments, they will be discharged from the program.  the discharge process is discussed beforehand, and the family is included in planning for actions to take after therapy ends.
