social skills groups

While we think our technicians are wonderful at facilitating learning for our clients, we believe that true generalization and application of skills cannot happen without the interaction between a child and their peers.  Social skills therapy plays a crucial role in helping children develop meaningful relationships and effective communication strategies.  The skills a child's peers are able to model provide so much more value and application to a child's goals than any skill a technician can teach.  We believe social communication and the building of relationships is one of the most important needs for our clients, and we use research-based curricula to provide support to children who are grouped based on age and skill level.  Through social skills therapy, these groups focus on learning new communication and relational skills while also working together to tackle projects, such as creating movies, building Lego sets, and researching dinosaurs.  This group is student-led with either a technician or a BCBA as a facilitator.  Currently, social skills therapy groups are offered during the summer hours to avoid school interruptions.

we currently have no social skills groups scheduled until June 2023.  inquire below for more details.
